   Its not the maverick virus that virus is in the X series. This is different.

   The way the X story goes is that Zero was the original holder of the virus that made reploids go maverick. Then, a scene in X4 displayed how Sigma became the carrier and how the virus became the Sigma virus (It being the Zero virus before, if you use names)
