My Xbox got the three red rings earlier today but is working now. How long before it dies for good?

Who knows. it could be tomorrow, it could be next year.
You just don’t know for sure, but its probably coming sooner then later.

Who knows when it will die for sure but if it’s still under warranty even a 1 year expired you can get it replaced for the cost of shipping it down there ($8 at UPS) you get a band new box not to mention a brand new warranty.
What I do know is that the longer you wait the worse it will get and eventually your warranty will run out and your box will not work, then it’ll cost $100 to fix (if you send it to xbox)
